Abstract
Despite more than 40 years of environmental education, as a global community we are still facing serious environmental change directly linked to a way of being in the world that is unsustainable. In recent years, much academic literature points to the need for environmental education to move towards transformative learning. This research explores the value of Education for Sustainability and Transformative Sustainability Learning in starting to address the gap between knowledge acquisition and action or behaviour change in environmental education.
