Getting up the mountain
What to bring, how to find us, and how food works. A little planning makes the journey in part of the adventure.

What to bring
Pack light, pack warm
- Walking shoes
- Warm clothes and a jacket (we are in the mountains, so it can get cool)
- A raincoat (we do have some you can borrow if needed)
- Sleeping gear if you can: sleeping bag, pillow, extra blanket (we provide the place and a mattress)
- Changes of clothes
- A torch
- A water bottle and toiletries
- And most important of all, a good attitude
How to get here
The last stretch is 4WD only
The address
Philp Mountain Rd, Running Creek, QLD 4287. We recommend downloading the Mud Map before you begin your journey, as phone service can be patchy as you arrive in our area.
The pick-up point
The last part of the road to Wild Mountains is 4WD access only. We will meet you at the pick-up point where your vehicle will be parked, and drive you the last two kilometres. If you are travelling in your own 4WD, it is still important to arrange a time and, where possible, arrive with the group so you can drive in convoy.
Call ahead
We recommend you call us when you leave Brisbane or the Gold Coast, and again when you come through Beaudesert, so we can meet you for a pick-up at the right time.
Who to ring
Please call us on +61 7 5544 1377. If you do not get anyone, please leave a message. Alternatively you can call or text Richard on +61 438 076 044.

How food works
A vegetarian table, all provided
Wild Mountains is a vegetarian centre, the main reason being that we like to give the community a chance to eat a little lower on the food chain and perhaps try something different.
We provide all meals: breakfast, morning tea, lunch, dinner, and sometimes, if someone is in a baking mood, dessert. We cater for gluten free, vegan and dairy free when required. Please advise any food allergies or intolerances before arrival so we can have the right food choices on hand.
Feel free to bring food to share. If you are able, a small financial contribution helps us cover food costs and is very appreciated. Most people donate $20 to $50 for a weekend. This keeps these weekends going without making the cost compulsory, and if you are unable to contribute financially, that is okay too.
We are looking forward to having you
Please feel free to give us a call any time if you have further questions before your visit.
